We shouldn’t have stopped at the Rio Grande

Mexican response to the Minutemen.

TIJUANA – Some U.S. law enforcement officials weren’t amused with a cartoon published in Mexican newspapers this month depicting a reward of $10,000 for an FBI or DEA agent.

In the cartoon, a drug trafficker stands near the reward sign. He’s quoted as saying, “Let’s see what type of hide yields more belts.” The hide presumably refers to the skin of the agents.

Securing Our Borders

batThe feds are offering a new program to local police agencies in several states to enroll police officers in a program to catch and deport illegal aliens. The program is already active in Alabama and Florida and under construction in Connecticut, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Now, Kalifornia (of all places) wants to join in. Of course, the usual suspects are screaming from the rooftops that this idea is all wrong and chaos will ensue, not to mention the fact that illegals might actually be deported. I guess the Left is concerned with who will tend their gardens and clean their mansions when the illegal Mess-cans are all gone.

Immigrant rights groups insist the move will discourage people from reporting domestic violence or other crimes for fear of deportation and lead to racial profiling and other abuses.

“We’re 100 percent against it,” said Amin David, president of Los Amigos of Orange County. “It will have a chilling effect on our community.”

Hey, Senor David .... chill this! If they want to come to this country, let them do it the right way and once they get here, let’s make sure they obey the laws. You got a problem with that?

Ain’t that a kick in the groin…

...to the ACLU.

The Army reservist who was jailed for holding seven illegal aliens at gunpoint until Maricopa County, Arizona, sheriff’s deputies arrived will not be prosecuted as the action was determined to be a legal citizen’s arrest.

Heh.  Chalk one up for the good guys.

When you buy firearms, only buy the best

If Santa Anna hadn’t been so chintzy when he outfitted his troops, we wouldn’t have an illegal alien problem in Texas today.

Minutemen Declare Victory and Go Home

The Minutemen have declared victory and will leave the Arizona border at the end of the month. One month of sitting around in the desert would be enough for me too. I do think they did a lot of good getting the public’s attention focused on the problem. I think that their current approach to the problem is more rational, and less likely to get someone shot.

The roughly 750 volunteers, organizers said, would remain in the border area through April under the direction of Civil Homeland Defense, a Tombstone, Ariz.-based group similar to the Minutemen.

The project now will focus on protesting businesses that employ illegal immigrants, pushing for immigration reform and organizing Minutemen branches nationwide. Minuteman leaders Jim Gilchrist and Chris Simcox are scheduled to speak before the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus in Washington, D.C., next week.

And of course Vincente Fox is threatening to sue.

Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-CO, chairman of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus, and U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl, R-AZ, have been vociferous defenders of the Minuteman Project Project against its critics.

“The president of Mexico is threatening to sue any member of the Minutemen who have contact with a Mexican national, threatening to take the U.S. into the International Court of Justice at the Hague over the passage of Prop 200 in Arizona, and is providing transportation to Mexican nationals trying to sneak into the U.S.,” said Trancredo. “One could say he is acting in the best interest of his nation. Isn’t it unfortunate we cannot say the same thing about President Bush?”

And Kyl lambasted Mexican President Fox’s threat to file lawsuits against the Minutemen. Fox appears to believe, “illegal aliens have more of a right to break American law than American citizens have to peacefully assist in enforcing it,” Kyl said.

I probably should launch into a rant about the “dirty mess-kins” at this point, but listening to old jazz and big band music today, has put me into such a good mood, I really can’t be mad at anybody right now. I may not be cut out to be a commentator on this web site.

Border Patrol

Stan’s Army of “Minute-Pigs” (shown here patrolling the fence outside El Paso) is the newest tactic in the fight to stop illegal immigrants from crossing our borders. Although not very effective against Mess-Cans, the new “Pork Squads” should be able to stop 99.9% of radical Muslim terrorists. PIG POWER!

Illegal Alien Update

Nothing has been posted about illegal aliens lately. That usually gets some blood a’boilin’.

The Minutemen have been set up along a 25 mile stretch of border, in Arizona, since the first of this month. There are reports out there, that they are having some impact. And some of the locals are supporting their efforts.

San Francisco Bay Area moonbats are trekking to the Arizona border to register their indignation. Hispanic leaders are praying for divine intervention (a sandstorm or plague of locusts perhaps.) The ACLU is sending lawyers. The Minutemen are hunkering down, eating bologna sandwiches and holding their own. My own idea of (R)obotic (I)nternet (F)irearms (R)anging (A)cross (F)rontiers (RIFRAF) is gaining no notice or acceptance, but that is nothing new or unusual.

And what about the rest of the border, besides this 25 mile stretch? Any ideas about what to do?

(R)obotic (I)nternet (F)irearms (R)anging (A)cross (F)rontiers - (RIFRAF)

StinKer asked if there was any application of robotic shooting as relates to border protection. At the moment, they are trying not to shoot wetbacks.

You can’t just go all Lee Harvey Oswald from your keyboard, however. A ranch employee is positioned next to the rifle, and he does not remove the safety to allow a shot until he’s sure everything’s okay.

“We’ve got a lot of illegal aliens who come through our area, and you don’t want somebody who doesn’t know any better to sight on a person and pull the trigger,” says Lockwood, whose naïveté about at least some of his audience’s attitude toward illegal aliens is charming.

Here is a reprint of a flurry of emails between Allan, Vilmar and myself when I first signed up to shoot something over the internet.

Robotic Internet Firearms Update

It takes a rare talent to piss off PETA and the NRA, all in one fell swoop. One such talented individual is John Lockwood of www.live-shot.com. He has used existing technology to enable people to hunt, with a real rifle, over the internet. I went to quite some expense and effort to bring this story to the readers of BMEWS. To be exact:

Package of Saltine Crackers = $.69
Can of Vienna Sausages = $1.19
Pint of Bourbon = $8.95
Membership to http://www.live-shot.com = $14.95
Shooting Session = $5.95

Allan and Vilmar refused to post it. I guess they were a little queasy about the subject matter. If you are not the queasy type, continue reading.

Very Interesting

Yes, I had a reason for posting the cartoon below. My first reaction was that it stank because it portrayed the Minutemen as killer vigilantes, poisoning their kids. My second reaction was that it might be how the situation looks in ten or twenty years when things along our border have gotten totally out of hand and Americans are actually patrolling the borders with hunting licenses.

Folks, this situation along our southern border is only going to get much, much worse. It’s like the Social Security problem. We can fix it now with relatively little effort or we can wait twenty years at which time the problem will be so far out of hand that it will cost many millions of dollars and probably thousands or millions of lives.

What say you? Should we pressure President Bush and Congress to treat this problem like the Social Security crisis they are screaming about or should we allow them to be hypocritical and press one issue while letting the other slide? Threats to our country come in many guises and in many places. Why ignore one dire problem and scream bloody murder about another. Methinks out government has blinders on and can only see what they want to see. That includes Democrats and Republicans.

Are we going to allow our government to give us a royal screwing over just because they want to court the Hispanic vote? Are we going to allow corporations to bring in illegal aliens to take over the low-paying jobs at the bottom of the food chain just because “Americans can then get trained for the higher-paying jobs” .... and the companies can then pay lower wages for illegals .. thereby keeping prices lower for the rest of us? That is nothing more that patronizing double-talk. There are way too many Americans at the bottom of the food chain purely because of limited ability. Why deprive them of a chance to earn a living just because some Congress-critter needs a few Hispanic votes from his/her district? Are we really getting lower priced products because of the cheap labor? I haven’t seen too many prices coming down lately, have you? In fact, inflation is starting to create problems with our economy. What the hell is that all about? I think we’re being methodically lied to here by government and American big business. This isn’t about DemocRATs or Republicans because they’re all lying to us and throwing up a smoke screen with their usual shenanigans squabbling with each other

I know, I’m starting to sound like a crap-spouting Moonbat Liberal when I say that but can you give me a better explanation? .... And don’t even think of calling me a Moonbat Liberal or I’ll have to come hurt you.

What say you?

Proper Attire

I ought to make these people pay for this plug but I’d rather you all just know about some really great t-shirts, mugs and buttons. You really need a t-shirt with the design below on it. Get it here and other designs here. Wear ‘em proudly and if you’re in Arizona, have some fun and make your next captured mess-can wear one too. Take pictures.

OOOOPS!

Yesterday I posted how a New Mexico city council member had said he wanted the Minutemen in his state.

I guess someone got carried away or his constituents read him the riot act.

He has now denied ever saying anything like that.

I say he got his balls handed to him and that’s why he’s speaking up.

I therefore take back what I said about him being a presidential candidate.

Assclown!

Should He Stay Or Should He Go?

You may have heard about the guy trapped in an elevator for four days.  If not, read this.

Now, did you know he was an illegal alien?

Did you also know that he was told he need not fear deportation?  Oh, yeah!  Straight from the INS’ mouth, too.

And if you wonder why millions of people stream across our borders, you need read nothing more than this:

The disclosure of Chen’s immigration status raised questions about how the information became public. Under city rules, police are allowed to seek a victim’s residency information for investigative purposes, but they may not disclose it to anyone else.

But it gets worse.  The mayor of New York, an alleged Republican, said this about how the press found out about his status

“it’s unconscionable. His immigration status had nothing to do with it whatsoever and should not have been divulged, clearly.”

Are you still wondering?

So, should he stay or should he go?  Remember, your answer will underscore your true feelings about illegals in this country and the mockery they make of our borders and laws.

My vote:  back to China!!!

Not that very many people ever read this far down, but this blog was the creation of Allan Kelly and his friend Vilmar. Vilmar moved on to his own blog some time ago, and Allan ran this place alone until his sudden and unexpected death partway through 2006. We all miss him. A lot. Even though he is gone this site will always still be more than a little bit his. We who are left to carry on the BMEWS tradition owe him a great debt of gratitude, and we hope to be able to pay that back by following his last advice to us all:
  1. Keep a firm grasp of Right and Wrong
  2. Stay involved with government on every level and don't let those bastards get away with a thing
  3. Use every legal means to defend yourself in the event of real internal trouble, and, most importantly:
  4. Keep talking to each other, whether here or elsewhere
